What's A Treatment Plan?

I used to work for a company that prided themselves on providing “world class therapy” (massage therapy specifically). However, it never felt that way as one of their top earning and most requested therapists, primarily because they treated their employees poorly and promised their clients the moon and the stars (far beyond anything massage therapy can actually accomplish). More on that in another post.

One day during a quarterly staff meeting at this job, we were asked to verbally share a treatment plan based on symptoms randomly thrown out by one of the two owners of the group. I was asked to go first but before I could speak the other owner of the company chimes in and said, “wait, you guys have treatment plans for every session you have with a client?”

Why am I sharing this? It’s imperative to me that I am respectful but transparent about how I got to this place in my journey because that’s who I am and why I created Conor Mac Massage. It’s important to me that you know that there is ALWAYS a game plan when I am working with you.

How is this accomplished? We talk about it. Once I know what the priorities are I mentally map out the time we have together whether it’s 60, 90 or 120 minutes. I outline the approach in the allotted time prior to your session and share what we’ll achieve together that day. Everyone has problem areas or areas that might need more attention.

There’s no worry about being charged a huge invoice to cover the company’s overhead and wages for the therapist or concern your needs won’t be met. Always know, treatment plans are created and performed with intention and care. That is my commitment to you.
